Terms and conditions

Validity of Vouchers

Try That{!}® Dollar Vouchers and Freedom Vouchers purchased at regular price have no expiry date. Try That{!}®  Dollar Vouchers and Freedom Vouchers obtained at a discounted price or through a contest, prize giveaway or any other promotional activity will have an expiry date. Such expiry dates are generally 12 months from date of issue, but may vary by promotion.

Experience Vouchers (vouchers that relate to a specific experience) do have an expiry date which will be a maximum of 12 months from the date of purchase. If your voucher is about to expire, you may extend it for a period of 6 months by paying a supplement of $25 plus HST plus any price increase before it expires. Vouchers valid for a specified experience may be exchanged for another experience at no administration charge. If your chosen experience is higher in price than the amount originally paid, you will only be charged the difference. If your chosen experience is lower in price than the original amount, the balance will be held in credit for you for a period of 6 months to use against any future purchase. Please note that where a credit balance is held, we will not refund any money. Try That{!}® Vouchers cannot be combined with those of other companies, including those of our Experience Suppliers.

Refunds and Cancellations

We are happy to make refunds on unbooked experiences bought from Try That{!}® within 14 days of purchase, minus a $35.00 + HST administration charge. We do not provide refunds on experiences for which a date has been booked. Changing a booked date amounts to a cancellation, so once your booking has been made, you may incur cancellation charges if you have to rebook. Try That{!}® does not accept rebookings or cancellations within 21 days of a booked experience.

Sometimes we have to cancel an experience for reasons beyond our control, e.g. the weather. We will do our best to notify you as soon as possible and do everything we can to offer you an alternative date or time. We regret that in these circumstances we cannot offer a refund on the experience itself, pre-paid accommodation, travel or any other expenses.

Refunds are always made to the person who purchased the experience, and if originally purchased by credit card, the refund will be credited to the same card. If the card has expired you will need to request a refund in writing, quoting details of a new credit card.

Refunds to a credit card can only be made within 60 days of purchase. Thereafter refunds will be made by cheque.

Around main gift-giving seasons (Christmas, Father’s Day, etc.) we respect the fact that you may purchase an experience some time in advance of when it will be presented as a gift. In these circumstances our 14 day (from date of purchase) refund policy does still apply, but if your gift recipient does not wish to participate in the experience you have chosen for them we will transfer your purchase amount into a non-expiring store credit.

The Try That{!}® network of experience companies includes many of North America’s best Experience Locations. We are always adding to the Experience Locations we offer, but occasionally we may need to withdraw venues featured here for reasons beyond our control. If your chosen Experience Location is withdrawn, you will be offered alternative venues wherever possible, but please note this is likely to be at a different Experience Location or with a different experience company. Where Experience Locations are stated as for example “Ontario wide”, Experience Locations may be limited in remote areas. Each venue has its own terms and conditions (available upon request) and your participation is conditional on your acceptance of these.

Experience Descriptions

The information provided by Try That{!}® on each experience is correct at the time of print. However, the content or format of experiences may change during the year. Details of each experience are available from our Customer Service Line toll free at 1-888-WOW-DAYS (969-3297) at any time and are included in the gift pack. Your participation is conditional on your acceptance of the experience description detailed in your booking confirmation.

Experience Pictures

The pictures used in all promotional collateral to illustrate experiences, particularly those that take place at more than one Experience Location, are used as an indication only. The machines, vehicles, craft, animals and settings at each venue do vary.

Session Lengths

Session lengths are approximate, vary from venue to venue and are given simply as an indication of the time you will spend at the venue. Unless stated otherwise, you will usually be taking turns with other people and there may be waiting time involved. We give itineraries as a guide only and the running order of any event may change.

Certain experiences are subject to minimum or maximum requirements, e.g. age, health or weight. We will confirm with you at the time of booking whether any restrictions apply to the participant. Once booked, you may be liable for charges if you have to cancel because the minimum requirements are not met. Full details are included in your gift pack and we ask you to read this carefully as soon as you receive it.

The Weather

Many Try That{!}® experiences are dependent on the weather and we will advise you if you need to call to check the weather before setting out. If your event is cancelled due to the weather, you will be able to rebook, but your rebooked experience remains subject to weather conditions.  We do not provide refunds for experience bookings that are cancelled due to poor weather or unsuitable conditions.

Availability and Seasonality

All experiences are offered subject to availability. The most recent information on dates when an experience is available may be found by calling our Customer Service Line toll free at 1-888-WOW-DAYS (969-3297). You should make bookings at least 14 days in advance and earlier for peak dates such as weekends or holiday periods. Bookings are not confirmed until you receive confirmation in writing from us. For some experiences, we may ask you to return the original voucher to us before we can confirm your booking. You should not make any travel, accommodation or other arrangements until you have received your booking confirmation.

Many of our experiences operate on a seasonal basis. If, by the time of booking an actual date for your experience, the season has passed or all remaining dates are fully booked you will be able to apply the value of your voucher towards any of our other experiences or you will have the option to extend your voucher as detailed under the heading “Validity of Vouchers” above. We regret that we are unable to provide refunds in circumstances where a lack of availability is caused by a delay in a voucher holder requesting a date for their experience.

Last Minute Bookings

Try That{!}® often has late availability for events, and bookings for these can generally be made right up until the day before the experience date. For these bookings, we will provide essential details via email, as we cannot guarantee that your gift pack and full details of the experience will arrive in time for your experience.

Disability/Medical Condition

We welcome the participation of disabled people in our experiences, although we recognize that certain experiences may present difficulties for those with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring that disabled customers are given every opportunity to participate, so we ask that you tell us about any relevant disability at the time of ordering. In addition, it is the responsibility of the participant to ensure that he/she has no medical condition, disability or other limitations which would render participating in the experience unsafe or inadvisable. This enables us to do our best to meet the participant’s particular needs. We will be happy to provide information about the disabled facilities available at specific venues on request.

Mechanical Breakdown or Illness

Where specific vehicles are featured, and in the event of mechanical breakdown, we reserve the right to make reasonable substitutions on the day. If this is not possible we reserve the right to cancel the event on short notice. Where mechanical breakdown results in the cessation of your Experience a make-up date may be arranged but we regret that we are unable to provide refunds in these circumstances.

If you have a problem or complaint on the day of the event, it is your responsibility to immediately bring your complaint to the attention of the host or event manager at the venue. Failure to do so may make it unlikely that Try That{!} is able to rectify the situation should you bring your complaint to our attention at a later date.

Other Information

All prices are subject to the relevant Provincial and Federal taxes and are correct at the time of print. We reserve the right to increase the price of any experience without notice. You will be notified of any price increase before you place your order.

The liability of Try That{!}® for any claim of breach of obligation in delivering the experience provided under any voucher shall be limited to the price of that voucher.
